I was convinced to upload this by a friend even though its probably the most fail vector and I've totally shamed YOSHIKI by making it... anyway...

Some of you may know this about me, but for those who don't:

I absolutely worship YOSHIKI. He's an amazing person. He works so hard to spread the love of music all over the world. Without him and the other members of X JAPAN Visual Kei probably wouldn't be what it is today. I could really go on for hours...

Anyway, we had a vector assignment in my digital arts class and after we were done with the main image we got to do a personal one. This was right around the time of the X JAPAN reunion and so this was the obvious choice. If I ever get the time I'd like to refine it a little more and print a good copy to mount. I'd really like to send it to him... but probably not gonna happen.

Wow very cool! I love the negative space along the center of the photo and the detail is impressive. Did you draw this or is this done from a photo? It is so detailed I cannot tell! Either way, it is very impressive!

I just vectored over a couple different images in Adobe Illustrator. The original image of Yoshiki didn't have the roses but he's standing in front of a wall or something, so it looked very bare. I added in the roses using like 2 or 3 different pictures.

The assignment was just to study negative space in vector art so the teacher just wanted us to highlight the main shadows and highlights, but I got a little bit crazy with the hair XD
